You never know when sudden discoveries are awaiting you. And where.
When I was asked to read and discuss “Schlechte Zeiten für Gespenster” (1984) by Walter Wippersberg and Käthi Bhend as illustrator, I was sceptical.
Can you imagine my amazement when a seemingly simple book for children revealed itself as a dramatic, albeit funny story about a little ghost who felt some different identity inside: he didn’t want to scare people, but to make friends with them.
Just marvelous.
