Jurij Mamin realized two cornerstone films characterizing the late Perestroika (“Fountain” 1988) and early post-Soviet years (“Window to Paris”, 1993).

Both are intensely satirical and loaded with predictions of what will follow.

Definitely to be watched if you want to understand the turning point of painful transition Russia had to go through in 1985-1995.

Original titles (Russian): Юрий Мамин “Фонтан” (1988) и “Окно в Париж” (1993)
English titles: Jurij Mamin “Fountain” (1988) and “Window to Paris” (1993)
