“When darkness is falling and shadows grow long…”

Ok then. The longest night of the year is driving in. My turn to sum the results up.

And to thank those who made this 2017 possible.

My special “Thank You” goes to my ex, Kim Fehl, who, by setting me free, opened up the cage, thus freeing my energy and demonstrating that a public person should live alone, recognition being an equivalent payback instead of those sweet “I-love-yous” whispered in the ear and reserved to those luckier ones.

1. Finished my first book of novels, which were, by the way, preliminary read for and critisized by my closest literature-related friends, including Tim Stepanoff, Den Abasov and Paul Chikalov. They gave a lot of useful advice about what changes should be made, as well as kept inspiring me throughout the year.

2. Accomplished two quite big-scale works on Stepik: “Ancient Rome and Latin”, “French Culture, Cinema and Language”. Tim Stepanoff helped me make the section on the French Cinema, Katya Yam went over the French Grammar section as well as filmed the Voice.TXT  sketches in Paris. Lyosha Belozerov, Asya Samsonova, Anya Glotova, Natasha Feofanova and Max Skryabin were my inspiration and support during this project. Thank you, dears.

3. Visited 4 new countries: Moldova, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Austria (well, the three latter ones are supposed to happen in my life before the Midnight strikes, if no disasters occur) + 1 unrecognized territory: Transnistria, so my deep thanks and hugs go to Dima Tolkachev, who was my travel companion on that remarkable day. Also did I visit Georgia, Belarus (a million thanks, Diim and Tanya Maibarada for hosting), Finland (thanks go to Aino (too young to have accounts on FB yet), Nastia and Henri Linnalas).

4. Launched (and completed the first season of) “Videoscripta Latina”, Latin-language stories about cities and towns.

5. I learnt and practiced Romanian in Chisinau. Had extensive Finnish practice with native speakers, all thanks to Nastia and Henri Linnalas again. At numerous attemps, tried to tackle higher maths, thanks to Cyril Safronov who would later on say: “Oh, you can now do it on your own”.

6. Taught extensively various subjects.

7. A very important period of my life, with its valuable experience in organizing “home events and concerts”, known in Russian as “kvartirniks”, finally came to an end.

8. Took part in 5 conferences: “Narodovlastie” (Moscow, thank you, Sasha and El Savo for inviting), “History and Identity” (St. Petersburg, thanks, Fel Levin for the impeccable organization), three “Linguafests” (Moscow /thank you, Yuri Smirnoff and Irina Goncharova for inviting me and for irreproachable organization/, Saint Petersburg and Minsk).

9. Vyazma deserves to be mentioned separately: three quite large-scale multi-day events in May, June and September (city walks, theatre master classes, rare languages, introduction to various cultures and their history), all thanks to Anya Petuhova and Natalia Osipova as enthusiasts and organizers.

10. “Nox Sovetica” with Tim Stepanoff: premiered in Moscow in Rudomino Library, all made possible thanks to Svetlana Dorogina and her professionalism. This event is a non-commented run through 75 years of the Soviet history, all in the course of one “immersion evening”.

11. Made a small research on the “Second Wave” in Chisinau architecture.

12. Several experimental attempts that have not gone too far yet: live coverages, including regular “Live talks”, commented Photodiary, Travel Notes, Commented History of Texts.

Thanks to all whom I hugged and kissed this year. Double thanks to those who kissed me first.

Thanks to all whom I met on my travels. Thanks to all who gave me new knowledge and inspiration.

Thanks to all who were waking up by my side in the mornings, fuck you, hypocritical rascals, being polyamorous is great!
