I remember foxes become popular all of a sudden, as if out of nowhere. Dogs, raccoons, cats — all of them had been commonplace long before I was born.
And I think it was around this time, when, in the early 2010s, this one-shot band from Norway, Ylvis, blasted the internet, asking what the fox actually says.
No one “knew” that at that moment, as one might judge from the video, and only later would the internet community attribute “fr-fr-fr” or the like to the newly beloved pets.
